Overview

Are you an experienced Band 5 nurse looking for the next step in your career or a current Band 6 seeking a fresh challenge as a Mental Health Liaison in Central Manchester? GMMH is recruiting Band 6 mental health practitioners at our busy Central Manchester site, expanding our hospital liaison services as part of the Five Year Forward Plan for Mental Health.

GMMH is one of the main mental health providers within Greater Manchester, delivering acute and A&E mental health care 24/7 through multidisciplinary teams. The Trust is committed to parity between mental and physical health care and to achieving a workforce that reflects the diverse communities we serve.

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive person‑centred assessments, advice, direct interventions and onward care planning to people of a range of ages and needs.
  • Deliver high quality mental health care in general hospital and A&E settings.
  • Collaborate with an experienced multidisciplinary team to improve care delivery and support learning.
  • Actively develop as a mental health professional, building on existing experience and knowledge.
Qualifications & Experience

Band 6 mental health practitioners with experience in driving service development and working with diverse populations. All candidates must pass satisfactory pre‑employment checks, including a DBS Update Service enrolment for a fee of £16 per year.

Working Hours

Night shift: Saturday midnight to midnight and any weekday after 8 pm until 6 am. All Sundays and public holidays midnight to midnight. Shift pattern includes time‑plus variations (47%, 94%, 41%, 83%, 35% and 69%) as applicable.
