Overview

Position: Band 6 Mental Health Liaison Nurse

Location: Weston-super-Mare

Contract Length: Initially 2 months, with strong potential for extension

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (shifts available: 8am-4pm, 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm)

Pay: £27 per hour (umbrella) / £21.46 PAYE (excluding holiday pay)

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality mental health assessments, interventions, and support to patients presenting in acute hospital settings.
  • Liaise closely with hospital staff, community teams, and external agencies to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Develop and implement tailored care plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for service users.
  • Administer medication, monitor patient progress, and respond to mental health crises as needed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS standards.
Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (NMC registration required)
  • Previous experience in liaison psychiatry, crisis, or community mental health settings
  • Excellent clinical assessment and communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
