About the Role
  • Provide 24-hour mental health support to A&E departments
  • Deliver care to individuals of all ages with suspected or diagnosed mental health conditions
  • Support prisoners transferred from His Majesty's Prisons with specialist mental health assessments
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team offering a full spectrum of mental health specialties

We are a part‑time role – 31.5 hours per week.

The team will provide comprehensive assessment, advice, ongoing support and monitoring of patients with mental health needs across all wards. We provide psychological support to patients and carers referred to our services in conjunction with ongoing physical health needs, ensuring holistic care throughout the patient’s stay in hospital.

Band 6 clinicians work as enthusiastic team members across the acute hospitals, assessing patients in an autonomous, systematic way, developing and reviewing treatment plans, advising and supporting acute staff and referring patients on through established referral pathways. Clinicians also contribute to the development of training packages and deliver bespoke training to acute Trust staff. We provide guidance, support and education to frontline NHS staff.

This is an opportunity to be part of a developing team which will be researched based in design according to the needs of the acute inpatient population.
