Job summary

A local sports club in Wilmslow is looking for an experienced coach to develop the Men's 1/2s for the season. The role includes planning and delivering coaching sessions, contributing to team selection, and ensuring compliance with safety guidelines. Ideal candidates should hold a Level 2 coaching qualification and have enthusiasm for player development. Saturday match attendance is expected. No support for international relocation.

Qualifications

  • Hold a level 2 coaching qualification (or equivalent) or working towards it.
  • Have worked in a similar role as a Coach or Player Coach.
  • Safeguarding, First Aid training and DBS.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver effective coaching sessions.
  • Contribute to team selection and provide performance feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
  • Attend Saturday matches for M1s and some M2 fixtures.

Job description

Wilmslow Hockey Club is looking for an experienced coach to develop our Men’s 1/2s for the remainder of this season and beyond.

Men’s training is on a Wednesday evening at our own pitch.

Experience and qualifications
  • High quality performance coaching to players, in line with the EH single system
  • Enthusiasm for and experience of developing players and improving team performance
  • Hold a level 2 coaching qualification (or equivalent) or working towards it
  • Have worked in a similar role as a Coach or Player Coach
  • Safeguarding, First Aid training and DBS
  • Post match tactical analysis with Veo Camera recordings
Responsibilities
  • Plan, monitor, deliver and evaluate (through safe, effective and relevant coaching sessions) the advancement of skill and performance of individual squad members and the squads as a whole
  • Act as a positive and professional role model, displaying good coaching conduct at all times, promoting an enjoyable and inclusive atmosphere
  • Contribute to weekly team selection and provide timely performance feedback to all squad players
  • Work with other coaches and captains to maximise the development of players and squads – including helping identify and develop young talent
  • Ensure that all coaching activities are compliant with government, EH and club guidelines and requirements to maintain safety for all participants
  • Abide by and promote EH Spirit of Hockey, Equality Policy and Safeguarding and Protecting Young People policies
  • Deliver pre-season training and assist in initial squad selection
  • Saturday match attendance – ideally for all M1s fixtures and some M2 fixtures
  • (Optional: have availability to coach periodically in local schools during school hours or after school).

Overseas coaches need not apply unless you are already planning to relocate yourself to North West England. We cannot support international relocation.
