Job description

Role:
North Walsham men’s Shed are looking for new members to make new friends, try their hand at some creative projects and support the local community. All our members have their own story, but we have those who are recovering from physical or mental health issues, have lost their partners, or who just want to make some new friends. Joining the Shed is also a great way to help others and the community, through volunteering or taking part in our community focused projects.

Time commitment:
The Men’s Shed meets Tuesday 10am – 1pm; Thursday 1pm – 4pm and Saturday 10am – 1pm.

About the organisation:
Men’s Shed offers community spaces for men to connect, converse and create. North Walsham Men’s Shed (NWMS) is a member of the UK Men’s Shed Association. The activities are often similar to those of garden sheds, but for groups of men to enjoy together. They help reduce loneliness and isolation, but most importantly, they’re fun.
NWMS have been involved with a number of community projects over the years, such as building local notice boards, bird box kits for local schools, and candle holders for the church. Also be working closely with our hosts, The Grange care home, to support them with maintenance of their grounds. A major project that we have planned is to construct a healing garden to support the care home residents.
