Overview

Memorial Advisor — 40 hours per week. Working flexibly over 5 days of the week (which will include weekend availability appointments & after hour appointments when required). Salary from £25,799 - £27,500 per annum + Commission + Benefits. FTC to cover Maternity leave. Forest Park Crematorium.

About the role

The role focuses on ethical, consultative sales and providing personalised support to families during a challenging time. You will lead families through their Memorial Journey with care, helping them choose memorial options that are personally meaningful now and for years to come.

This is not a traditional desk-bound sales role; you will engage directly with families and be involved in a variety of daily tasks to support decision-making and logistics.

Responsibilities
  • Offer dedicated one-to-one support and guidance on memorial options, helping families honour their loved one in a way that is uniquely personal.
  • Lead and manage commercial conversations with exceptional care, using a consistent, ethical consultative sales approach.
  • Present families with every possible memorial option to create a personal memorial.
  • Make calls and book appointments with families; use the Chronicle IT system (training provided) to discuss memorial options (e.g., jewellery, headstone materials, engraving, living memorial options, plot areas).
  • Walk the grounds with a family to show plots and provide visual context for memorials.
  • Answer phone inquiries, action emails, and send outbound paperwork/letters.
  • Coordinate orders with suppliers and consolidate all elements to ensure a coordinated outcome.
  • Provide families with a cost breakdown and process final transactions; basic Excel skills required.
  • Communicate with families about memorial leases and extensions; oversee renovations and repairs to memorials; maintain accurate records.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork to support exceptional care and service.
About you / Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Sales Executive / Sales Advisor / Sales Assistant / Sales Representative / Sales Consultant / Funeral Arranger or equivalent; willingness to learn about the bereavement sector.
  • Consultative sales experience.
  • Natural communicator with the ability to build relationships and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to speak to people in a caring and understanding manner.
  • Resilient and organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Active listener; comfortable discussing options at a measured pace.
  • Excellent administration and IT skills; comfortable using Word/Excel, writing emails and letters.
  • A real team player with compassion and a desire to make a difference every day.
