Job description
Overview

Join our team at the brand‑new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), where we are dedicated to delivering top‑quality diagnostic services to the local community. This modern facility offers a welcoming, efficient, and patient‑centred environment for everyone who walks through its doors.

Responsibilities
  • Meet and greet patients and visitors to the CDC and deal with enquiries efficiently and courteously, providing a caring, considerate and helpful service.
  • Maintain the clinics; attendance, capture of the 18‑week pathway codes, discharge and cashing up of the clinic.
  • Communicate with the patient regarding demographics and other personal details to ensure that the patient administration system and case note documentation is immediately updated.
  • Work closely with the nursing staff, announcing visitors and patients to staff and inform patients with regard to any clinic delays.
  • Answer telephone queries, take messages and direct where appropriate; provide assistance directing visitors to the appropriate locations.
  • Book outpatients follow‑up appointments as required by the clinician ensuring that the clinic capacity is adhered to and overbook when authorised.
  • Overbook on the clinician’s instructions only and copy authorisation to the Outpatient Administration Team.
  • Participate in training/induction of new staff.
Work Schedule

The CDC operates 7 days a week from 8 am to 8 pm. The successful candidate will work on a rota that includes early/late shifts, weekend and bank holidays coverage.

Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check is required; the cost is £49.50, paid by the candidate before the first salary. From 1st February 2019 all new starters to the Trust must join the DBS update service (£16 per year) to avoid further charges.

New employees are subject to a six‑month probationary period.
