A regional healthcare provider in Dorchester is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to perform essential laboratory tasks. Candidates should possess GCSEs in Science, Maths, and English. This role involves specimen reception, data entry, and ensuring appropriate handling of laboratory samples. The position offers both full-time and part-time contract options.
Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals for the Medical Laboratory Assistant post in the department of Blood Sciences at Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
The department provides a wide range of analytical, diagnostic and interpretative services to hospitals, clinics and GP practices.
The appointee will be required to undertake basic laboratory tasks including specimen reception, keyboard entry of data into the laboratory management system, and preparation of laboratory materials. You will work in the specimen reception area and be responsible for ensuring that samples received into the department are recorded and prepared appropriately. You will also triage requests to ensure that urgent work is fast tracked appropriately.
