TheseMedical Education Fellow positions represent an excellent opportunity to bepart of the growing team developing and delivering an innovative MBBS programmefor the newest medical school in London. The experience gained will enhanceyour medical education portfolio.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will join a team of Medical Education Fellows and work collaboratively to contribute to various aspects of the programme. This may include teaching clinical skills, communication skills or anatomy. Other areas of contribution may include curriculum development, assessment and student selection. In-house training will be provided.

About us

Brunel Medical School welcomed its first intake of students in September 2022. The MBBS programme has a number of distinctive features, including team-based learning, programmatic assessment, clinical anatomy using a collection of plastinated specimens and radiological imaging and early exposure to patients in community settings. A range of digital technologies are being used to enhance learning, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion are embedded across all aspects of the student experience.

You will be expected to work on the Brunel University Campus in Uxbridge, London.

Job responsibilities

The successfulpost holder will be part of a team of medical education fellows MEFs contributing to the teaching of phase 1 year 1 and 2 student cohorts, and tothe ongoing development of the 5-year MBBS programme.

Teachingclinical skills and communication skills to first- and second-year students.

TeachingPhysician Associates (PA) students

You may also beinvolved with the delivery of anatomy teaching

Contribute tothe planning, development and review of curriculum materials.

Contribute tostudent selection, including multiple mini-interviews.

Contribute toassessment, including OSCE.

Administrationand Management

Contribute toDepartmental, College and/or University committees.

Communication

Liaise withinternal and external stakeholders, as required.

Support anacademically rigorous and evidence-based approach to the design and developmentof curriculum, informed by a scholarly understanding of educational theory andpractice.

ExternalEngagement

Participate inexternal networking, generating opportunities for collaborative learning andteaching projects.

Present plannededucational initiatives at appropriate internal and external meetings.

ProfessionalDevelopment

Undertakecontinuous professional development CPD in medical education, according toprior experience and performance.
