A local health practice in West Midlands is seeking a proactive Medical Administrator/Care Navigator to support administrative duties in a busy healthcare environment. The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and experience working with the public. Essential qualifications include GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths. This permanent position offers part-time or full-time options, requiring flexibility to work outside core hours.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and monitoring general administration tasks.
  • Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and deal with requests appropriately.
  • Signpost patients to the correct service.
  • Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients and team members.
  • Support in the management of repeat prescriptions.
  • Photocopy documentation as required.
  • Input data into patients' healthcare records as necessary.

Due to retirement an exciting opportunity has arisen at Baddeley Green Surgery for full time or part time considered Medical Administrator/Care Navigator. We are looking for an experienced Primary Care Administrator/Care Navigator who is pro‑active, enthusiastic self‑motivated candidate with experience in dealing with the general administration duties, general public face to face and via telephone, in either a previous reception or customer service role.

Baddeley Green Surgery comprises of three General Practitioners with a compliment of clinical and administrative staff members. We are a friendly forward thinking practice looking for a pro‑active Administrator/Care Navigator to compliment our team working in a friendly professional busy environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and monitoring general administration tasks
  • Process personal, telephone and e‑requests for appointments
  • Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
  • Signpost patients to the correct service
  • Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, team members and external agencies
  • Support in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently
  • Action incoming emails when necessary
  • Photocopy documentation as required
  • Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
  • Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary
  • Carry out system searches as requested
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
  • Monitor and maintain the reception area and notice boards
  • Support Admin, Secretarial, clinical staff with general tasks as requested
  • Provide cover during staff absences
  • Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patients healthcare records
  • Referring patients to secondary care
  • Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota
  • Ordering and monitoring of stationery supplies
Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to GCSE or equivalent A to C in English and Maths

  • NVQ Customer Service
  • AMSPAR Qualification
