We specialise in the design, supply and installation of prefabricated energy solutions, built in NI and shipped throughout the UK & Europe. We also offer turnkey design, build and operate solutions for commercial energy centres and large‑scale district heating projects, successfully procuring and delivering many similar packages to a wide range of public bodies across UK & Europe.

Team Overview

The Contracts department oversees delivery and execution of projects from mobilisation to handover. Acting as a bridge between design, commercial and onsite teams, it ensures contractual obligations are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety and efficiency. With a focus on planning, resource coordination and problem‑solving, the Contracts team plays a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and to client satisfaction.

Role Overview

As Mechanical Project Manager you will lead the planning, execution and completion of mechanical engineering projects that improve production capability, efficiency and reliability. The role combines technical expertise with strong leadership and project management skills to ensure successful delivery of capital and improvement projects within scope, budget and schedule.

What You’ll be Doing
Project Planning & Execution
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules and budgets for mechanical system installations and improvements.
  • Ensure all project activities align with plant operational goals and business strategies.
Technical & Engineering Oversight
  • Provide mechanical engineering expertise during equipment selection, system design and layout development.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, vendor specifications and technical documents.
  • Oversee mechanical installations to ensure compliance with design intent, safety and quality standards.
Procurement & Supply Chain Management
  • Work with Procurement and Supply Chain teams for mechanical equipment, components and services.
  • Prepare technical specifications, RFQs and bid packages; evaluate vendor proposals and negotiate contracts.
  • Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to track expenditures and manage supplier performance.
Sub‑Contractor & Third‑Party Management
  • Identify third‑party sub‑contractors and suppliers and ensure their timely integration into the project.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and third‑party engineering firms.
  • Oversee contractor performance in safety, quality, schedule adherence and compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate activities and resolve interface issues between internal departments and external parties.
  • Conduct regular progress meetings, inspections and performance reviews.
Cost, Quality & Risk Control
  • Monitor project costs, forecasts and progress against budget and schedule.
  • Identify and mitigate risks proactively through contingency planning and stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and ensure all deliverables meet corporate and industry standards.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, production, EHS and quality teams to ensure seamless project integration.
  • Support process optimisation and ensure mechanical systems contribute to operational efficiency and safety.
Compliance & Documentation
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including drawings, test records, change orders and commissioning reports.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards (ASME, ISO, API, etc.) and corporate engineering policies.
What You Need to Have
  • Strong technical background in mechanical systems, MEP equipment and plant utilities.
  • Proven experience in contract negotiation and vendor management.
  • Effective leadership and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD and project management tools (AutoCAD, Solidworks, MS Project, ASTA).
  • Strong commercial awareness and budget management capability.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years in mechanical project management within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
What You Would Ideally Have
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Certification: PMP, Prince2 or Six Sigma certification.
  • Industry experience with off‑site MEP prefabricated solutions, heavy plant manufacture.
