Our client in Sheffield is looking to appoint a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their busy team.

About the Role:

As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of machinery in a clean room environment. Your mechanical expertise will help maintain high standards in production, all while working alongside a dedicated team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventive maintenance on a range of packaging machinery.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical faults, focusing on:
    • Basic pneumatics
    • Bearings
    • Gearboxes
    • Mechanical linkages and assemblies
  • Utilise your excellent hand tool knowledge to carry out repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the electrical team when necessary to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety standards.
What We're Looking For:
  • Previous experience in the food manufacturing or packaging sector is highly desirable.
  • A mechanical bias is essential; electrical knowledge is a plus but not required.
  • Strong familiarity with hand tools and their applications.
