Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Mechanical Fitter/Workshop Assembler based in Pershore. The role involves assembling and fitting mechanical components in line with engineering specifications, maintaining quality standards and safety regulations. Applicants should have previous workshop fitting experience and be confident in using hand tools and machinery. Working hours are Monday to Thursday 07:00-16:30 and Friday 07:00-12:00, with a pay rate of £14.00-£15.00 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Competent in the use of hand tools and workshop machinery.

Mechanical Fitter/Workshop Assembler – Pershore

We are recruiting a Mechanical Fitter/Workshop Assembler to carry out assembly and fitting tasks within the workshop, ensuring high standards of quality and safety in the production and maintenance of locomotive components.

Duties
  • Assemble and fit mechanical components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery safely and effectively.
  • Inspect and test assembled components for accuracy and functionality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on workshop equipment as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the workshop team to meet production deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a workshop fitter or mechanical assembler.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions.
  • Competent in the use of hand tools and workshop machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards.
  • Good problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently.

Hours of Work: Monday to Thursday 07:00‑16:30, Friday 07:00‑12:00.
Pay Rate: £14.00‑£15.00 per hour (depending on experience).
Contract: Temporary to Permanent.
