Overview

Mechanical Fitter - Electrical training provided
£14.50 - £17.50 per hour + Overtime
Monday - Thursday, 8:00am - 4:45pm and Fridays, 8:00am - 12:00pm
Hope Valley, Derbyshire

Are you a Mechanical Fitter with a background in machinery or equipment assembly, that is interested in receiving electrical training?

Due to continued success and growth, we are recruiting for a Production Operative to join a highly skilled team within the Mechanical Assembly Department in Hope Valley. The successful candidate will be responsible for the mechanical assembly and fitting of special purpose equipment and machinery, working from technical drawings and electrical schematics, as well as carrying out basic machining and welding operations when required.

This position would suit someone with experience in mechanical assembly / fitting who is looking for a secure, days-based role with excellent progression opportunities and a supportive team environment.

The Role
  • Mechanical assembly and fitting of bespoke and catalogue items
  • Working from mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Carrying out drilling, machining, MIG welding, and piping operations - Training will be provided
  • Installing and wiring electrical components/panels
  • Basic testing and inspection of assemblies
  • 37.5 hours per week, early finish Fridays
The Candidate
  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly/fitting (industrial environment preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
  • Experience in machining operations (drilling, milling, turning) desirable
  • Previous panel wiring knowledge advantageous but not essential
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Lives a commutable distance from Hope Valley
