Job Overview

Working as a Business Support Officer (BSO) within the Mechanical Engineering team, you will provide administrative and operational support to the management team as detailed below.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide proactive, accurate, and comprehensive administrative support to Senior Management and the training team.
  • Manage complex diaries, extensive travel arrangements and expenses.
  • Organise meetings, events, workshops, training days and participate when required; take and manage actions.
  • Create and maintain MS Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, MS One Note and Word documents accurately.
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
  • Assist and support new starters within the team.
  • Raise purchase requisitions and process invoices using MBDA online tools.
  • Understand and utilise MBDA systems, tools and policies.
  • Support wider UKSF activities such as participation and contribution to working groups.
Experience and Skills
  • Experience in a similar Business/Administrative Support role.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills with high resilience.
  • Forward‑thinking and proactive, seeking to improve efficiencies.
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, OneNote).
  • Ability to prioritise, multi‑task and manage workload effectively.
