Mechanical Design Engineer – Dartford Area | Full-Time | Permanent | £32,000-£38,000 DOE + Benefits

A precision engineering company in the Dartford area is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their busy design team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with mechanical engineering knowledge who wants to develop their skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities
  • Work on detailed designs and manufacturing drawings
  • Modify and up-issue existing drawings
  • Compile design documentation and create BOMs
  • Liaise with internal teams and occasionally visit sites
  • Support and learn alongside an experienced design engineer
  • Attend project meetings and provide technical input
  • Conduct feasibility studies and suggest design improvements
  • Ensure designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to optimise processes and reduce costs
  • Review prototypes and provide feedback for production readiness
  • Maintain accurate records of design changes and revisions
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Previous design office experience desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of 2D/3D CAD and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and a proactive attitude
