Description

Data Centre Construction Manager – Mechanical

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager to lead and oversee mechanical construction activities on high-profile projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing on-site operations, ensuring project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in mechanical systems, and a proven track record in delivering complex engineering projects safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all mechanical construction activities from planning through to commissioning, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Monitor progress, conduct site inspections, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to communicate project status and resolve technical or logistical issues.
  • Review mechanical drawings and specifications, providing input on constructability and value engineering opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Support the procurement process by reviewing technical submittals and coordinating equipment delivery schedules.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to senior management.
  • Ensure commissioning and handover processes are executed efficiently and meet all contractual and regulatory requirements.
Skills And Requirements
  • Mechanical trade or Engineering background essential
  • Experience working with any of the following materials and jointing methods also an advantage : PVC, PVDF, PP, S / S, C / S, orbital and tig welding and fusion jointing
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills required
  • Excellent IT skills required – MS Office / Excel
  • Data centre experience is advantageous, but not essential.
