South West/ temporary / £145 - 185 per day

Are you a qualified Maths Teacher looking for flexible, long-term or short-term teaching opportunities in the North Somerset area?

Would you like to work with a variety of welcoming and well-managed secondary schools where your skills are highly valued?

TeacherActive is currently working with a number of North Somerset secondary schools in search of confident and adaptable Maths Teachers for supply roles starting in September 2025. Whether you’re an experienced Maths Teacher or an enthusiastic ECT, we’d love to connect you with schools where you can thrive, inspire students, and make a real impact — all without the commitment of a permanent contract.

Supply teaching offers flexibility, variety, and the chance to build relationships with schools across the region. We’re especially keen to hear from Maths Teachers who are passionate about their subject and confident delivering engaging lessons across KS3 and KS4. Opportunities to teach KS5 may also be available, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4, with potential KS5 depending on experience.
• Manage classrooms effectively and maintain positive student behaviour.
• Adapt teaching to meet diverse student needs and build student confidence in Maths.
• Collaborate with schools and consultants to ensure smooth delivery of lessons and progression.

The ideal Maths Teacher will have

• QTS with a specialism in Mathematics (newly qualified teachers encouraged to apply)
• Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4 Maths (KS5 desirable but not essential)
• Good classroom and behaviour management skills
• A flexible, professional approach and the ability to hit the ground running
• A passion for education and building student confidence in Maths
