Maths Lecturer

Location: Birmingham

Hours: Full time or Part time roles available

Salary: £25-32

TeacherActive is working closely with Further Education colleges across Birmingham to recruit an experienced and motivated Maths Lecturer to deliver GCSE Mathematics resit programmes, A-Level Maths and Functional Skills. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate educator who thrives on supporting post‑16 learners to improve confidence and close gaps in understanding.

The Role

• Teaching GCSE Maths resit classes and other areas when required to post‑16 learners
• Planning engaging, differentiated lessons to meet diverse needs
• Supporting learners who may have had negative prior experiences of maths
• Monitoring progress and preparing students for GCSE examinations
• Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds QTS, PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent teaching qualification
• Has experience delivering Mathematics, ideally within FE
• Confident teaching resit cohorts and supporting reluctant learners
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Committed to raising achievement and learner outcomes

Requirements

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Two professional references
• Right to work in the UK
