Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated healthcare assistant within maternity services. You will provide direct clinical care to women and babies, under the supervision of a designated midwife, while advocating for patients within the multidisciplinary team.

Role involves recording data, promoting patient-centred care, and collaborating with colleagues inside and outside the Trust to ensure effective care networks.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths A-C or equivalent.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
• Level 2 literacy and numeracy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care to all patients and babies using maternity services.
• Undertake direct care and appropriate interventions under midwife supervision to support the physical and mental wellbeing of patient and baby.
• Promote individualised care for the patient and family, acting as their advocate within the multidisciplinary team when the midwife is absent.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, patients and their families.
• Work in partnership with clients and professionals inside and outside the Trust to provide an effective network of care.
• Collect and record written and electronic data in line with Trust guidelines and policies.
• Advocate for the department by promoting respectful and flexible team working across areas.
