Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is hiring a Band 3 Maternity Clinical Support Worker to assist midwives with personal care for women and babies in delivery, antenatal, and postnatal areas.

The role involves day and night shifts, assisting with feeding and bathing, transfers, and ensuring hygiene and safety across wards. DBS checks and NHS policies apply, with ample development opportunities in a busy maternity service.

Qualifications

• Level 3 vocational qualification or equivalent clinical care knowledge.
• Numeracy and literacy at Level 2 or above.
• National Care Certificate or commitment to complete within 12 weeks.
• Awareness of data protection and health and safety laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to women and babies in support of midwives as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assist with feeding, bathing, and general personal care for mothers and babies.
• Move postnatal women between delivery suite and maternity ward under supervision.
• Assist with documentation and recording clinical observations accurately.
• Deliver meals to patients and maintain high hygiene standards.
• Ensure safe use and maintenance of equipment and infection control at all times.
• Report problems promptly to midwives and participate in drills.
• Support safe transfers and escort to other departments as required.
