Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking a Maternity Support Worker to provide direct delivery of clinical care to patients and babies accessing maternity services. Based within specialist teams including theatres, foetal medicine and community hubs, you will support individualised care and advocacy.

Qualifications

• Essential: GCSE English and Maths at A-C; NVQ Level 2 or equivalent; Minimum Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy

Responsibilities

• Ensure effective communication with colleagues, patients, and their families.
• Promote individualised care, advocate for patients within the multidisciplinary team.
• Undertake direct care and interventions to maximise patient and baby wellbeing under supervision.
• Participate in collection and recording of written and electronic data per Trust guidelines.
• Work in partnership with clients and professionals to provide effective care networks.
• Act as an advocate for the department and promote respectful, flexible teamwork.
