Qualifications

What youll do

Being a Master Roaster is about so much more than bringing our coffee to the world. Its your chance to stir up real success - which means youll be :

  • Deliver Exceptional Coffee Quality. Roast coffee to precise standards using advanced Probat systems, ensuring every batch meets customer expectations and global food safety standards.
  • Lead Safe, High-Performance Production. Manage daily roasting operations to meet volume and quality targets while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
  • Support new product development through recipe creation, blend formulation, and trialstranslating innovation into scalable production.
  • Operate and maintain production documentation and systems (Probat Plant Excellence, NAV ), ensuring traceability, order management, and stock accuracy.
  • Share expertise to upskill roastery colleagues, ensuring consistent roasting quality and operational excellence across shifts.
  • Work closely with Production, Packing, and Warehouse teams to ensure seamless coordination of green coffee, roasting schedules, and output..
Who you are

Its your unique ingredients were interested in :

  • Strong Knowledge of Coffee Production & Roasting. Proven experience in coffee roasting processes, with working knowledge of roaster software, DMS systems, and sensory analysis (certifications a plus).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and manage teams in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Understanding of productivity metrics, OEE, and continuous improvement within a food production setting.
  • Solid grasp of food hygiene, health & safety, and global food safety standards (e.g., "BRC").
  • Comfortable using PC applications (Excel, Word, Email), with experience in Navision ( / ) and basic understanding of electrical / mechanical systems.
  • Effective communicator with strong organisational skills, able to plan production and collaborate across functions to meet targets.

Location Permanently based at Basildon Roastery. Mon to Fri working 06 : 30am to 15 : 30pm, 08 : 00am to 17 : 00pm and 10 : 00am to 19 : 00pm based on rotated shift & business requirement.
