Position Overview:
The Massage Therapist 1 provides therapeutic and preventive massage treatments to relieve muscular pain, promote circulation, reduce stress, and assist in recovery from work-related strain or injury. This role supports the physical and mental wellness of the clients field workers, technical staff, and project leadership, contributing to sustained performance and morale in demanding environments.

Deliver targeted massage therapy sessions based on individual needs, medical history, or site activity-related stressors.
Apply techniques including deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, sports, and myofascial release as appropriate.
Assess physical condition and discuss treatment goals with clients to develop a personalized session plan.
Maintain records of each clients treatment, progress, and any changes in condition.
Work in coordination with physiotherapists, nurses, or personal trainers to support rehabilitation protocols.
Educate clients on posture, stretching, hydration, and muscular self-care techniques.
Ensure hygiene and safety standards are upheld at all times, including sanitizing tools and treatment areas.
Monitor clients during sessions for signs of discomfort or contraindications, modifying techniques as needed.
Provide chair massages, mobile therapy, or pop-up clinic services on site when needed.
Support wellness events, health weeks, or staff morale programs with stress-reduction interventions.
Recommend therapeutic plans such as frequency of visits, stretching routines, or ergonomic improvements.
Adhere strictly to professional ethics, privacy laws, and cultural sensitivities in touch-based therapy.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certifications:
KCSE certificate minimum.
Diploma or Certificate in Massage Therapy from a recognized institution.
Valid license or certification with a national health or therapy board (where applicable).
CPR and First Aid certification is mandatory.
Additional training in sports massage, lymphatic drainage, or orthopedic techniques is a plus.
Experience:
2+ years hands-on experience in clinical, spa, rehabilitation, or sports environments.
Experience treating manual laborers, athletes, or individuals with high physical workload preferred.
Familiarity with pain management, mobility restoration, or post-operative recovery is an asset.
Skills:
Skilled in a variety of therapeutic massage techniques.
Physically strong and able to work in repetitive movement environments.
Excellent interpersonal, listening, and observational skills.
Discreet, compassionate, and committed to ethical practice.
Knowledgeable in anatomy, physiology, and common musculoskeletal conditions.
Other Requirements:
Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, or in mobile/camp-based environments.
Capable of maintaining a calm and professional demeanor in high-pressure or culturally diverse settings.
Must be physically able to stand for long periods and handle physical exertion.
