Description

St James was established in 1996, originally as a joint venture between the Berkeley Group and Thames Water. A wholly owned subsidiary of Berkeley Group since 2007, the company has established a reputation as a design conscious developer regenerating brownfield sites and transforming them into attractive developments, whose design not only creates desirable places to live but also has a positive impact on the immediate area.

St William, a joint venture between National Grid and Berkeley Group, is redefining urban regeneration by turning industrial sites into sustainable, thriving communities across London and the South of England. With the backing of two industry leaders, we tackle some of the most complex technical projects, delivering high-quality developments where people love to live.

The role

The Marketing Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day marketing activity for assigned developments. The role ensures campaigns, collateral and events are delivered on time, within budget and to brand standards.

  • Work with in-house designers and external agencies to develop all online and offline sales and marketing materials, including brochures, presentations (internal and external), adverts, factsheets, local guides, newsletters, invitations, development models, CGIs, interactive apartment finders, promotional videos, social media content and other ad‑hoc collateral for assigned developments.
  • Plan and manage all events, including sales launches, sponsorships, charity initiatives, placemaking activities and community events.
  • Collaborate with international teams in the UK and overseas to prepare, plan and manage all international exhibitions, including model moves, event logistics, advertising and promotional activity.
  • Co‑ordinate with international Berkeley Group offices to ensure they are fully stocked with relevant marketing collateral and up‑to‑date information.
  • Commission and manage all photography, including lifestyle, product, site and event photo shoots.
  • Oversee the day‑to‑day presentation of show apartments, marketing suites and stock plots, ensuring consistently high standards, including external landscaping, cleaning and sales signage.
  • Work with interior designers to furnish new marketing suites and show apartments.
  • Partner with the appointed media agency to plan, book and evaluate targeted media across print, digital and outdoor channels.
  • Manage regular email communications and online portal listings, monitoring and reporting on performance in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Manager.
  • Own and maintain development web pages, ensuring content is accurate and current, and work with the Digital Marketing Manager and Berkeley Group digital team to continually enhance user experience.
  • Implement and maintain development PR strategies, securing timely and frequent news stories and ensuring these are communicated externally and internally.
  • Prepare and submit entries for relevant industry awards.
  • Manage and monitor sales and marketing budgets.
  • Provide regular reporting on marketing activity to the Senior Marketing Manager and the Board of Directors for Monthly Project Reviews.
  • Work with junior team members to ensure all departmental invoices and purchase orders are authorised and processed promptly, and suppliers are paid on time.
  • Implement and manage all other ad‑hoc promotional activities as required.
  • Coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team.
Experience required
  • Strong ability to plan, execute and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently met.
