In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive and implement marketing and sales activities for the Data Centre market segment(s) in line with the agreed sales strategy. Each day, you will provide business support, including expertise in products, applications, solutions, and segment and customer support for the assigned product portfolio. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring profitable business growth and sustainable deployment of the division's strategic plan.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute segment strategies to identify high‑potential market areas and align local plans with global product marketing.
  • Identify opportunities for key account growth and develop existing transactional partners to support segment growth.
  • Own sales performance within the segment, achieving targets for orders, revenue, and product mix while growing business through new and existing distribution partners.
  • Create and communicate tailored value propositions in partnership with Product Management.
  • Conduct ongoing market and competitor analysis to provide insights that inform strategic decisions.
  • Build and manage strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and internal teams while identifying and developing strategic accounts.
  • Drive sales execution and capability, supporting the marketplace with materials, guidance, and training to ensure strong technical and product knowledge across sales teams.
  • Provide technical leadership to customers and collaborate with Quality and Service teams to resolve issues and ensure a high‑quality customer experience.
  • Ensure compliance with ABB policies, procedures, and HSE standards, promoting integrity and best practices across all activities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in the industry or targeted market segments.
  • Ideally have an applicable engineering or electrical qualification relative to the target segments and audience.
  • Knowledge and experience of dealing with electrical and mechanical consultants, M&E contractors in the targeted segments.
  • Ability to deliver technical and product presentations to potential clients.
  • Possess knowledge of the marketplace and customers along with knowledge of electrical standards, product application and competitor's offerings.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong IT proficiency (CRM Systems, Microsoft Office).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

This position reports to the ABB Installation Products Division (formerly Thomas & Betts), helping manage the connection, protection and distribution of electrical power from source to socket. The division’s products are engineered to provide ease of installation and perform in demanding and harsh conditions, helping to ensure safety and continuous operation for utilities, businesses and people around the world.

The Commercial Essentials product segment includes electrical junction boxes, commercial fittings, strut and cable tray metal framing systems for commercial and residential construction. The Premier Industrial product segment includes multiple product lines, such as Ty‑Rap® cable ties, T&B Liquidtight Systems® protection products, PVC coated and nylon conduit systems, power connection and grounding systems, and cable protection systems of conduits and fittings for harsh and industrial applications.

The division also manufactures solutions for medium‑voltage applications used in the utility market under its marquee brands including Elastimold reclosers and switchgear, capacitor switches, current limiting fuses, Homac distribution connectors, Hi‑Tech Valiant full‑range current limiting fuse for fire mitigation, faulted current indicators and distribution connectors, cable accessories and apparatus with products for overhead and underground distribution. Manufacturing includes made‑to‑stock and custom‑made solutions.
