Shift pattern: 12-hour days & nights rotating every 3 weeks

Position Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an NDT‑focused Manufacturing Team Member to join our Advanced Blade Casting Facility (ABCF) in Rotherham. The facility is dedicated to high‑volume single‑crystal turbine blade production using world‑class automated processes, advanced manufacturing systems and leading‑edge measurement techniques.

In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting and developing Non‑Destructive Testing (NDT) inspection techniques across key component features throughout the manufacturing process. You will manage non‑conformance in line with the Rolls‑Royce Management System and contribute to our drive for right‑first‑time delivery, working as part of a team committed to reducing defects across products and processes.

What you will be doing:
  • Interpreting and evaluating NDT indications to ensure high‑quality product assessment.
  • Liaising with Controlling Laboratories and Manufacturing Engineering to investigate, develop and highlight new defects or recurring issues.
  • Recording work details and non‑conformance accurately while monitoring the effectiveness of inspection processes.
  • Supporting basic housekeeping and 5S activities, contributing to a clean and efficient working environment.
  • Participating in process improvement activities to enhance inspection capability and overall product quality.
  • Working shift patterns that include nights as part of a 24/5 rotational schedule.
Position Qualifications:
  • Current PCN / EN4179 / ASNT Level 2 certification in Radiography (aerospace preferred).
  • Hands‑on industrial or manufacturing experience, ideally in a high‑precision or safety‑critical environment.
  • Previous inspection experience is desirable but not essential if supported by strong NDT credentials.
  • Confident decision‑maker with the ability to communicate clearly and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Competent with computer software and digital systems used in manufacturing or inspection operations.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify opportunities for process and quality improvement.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience working within aerospace, precision engineering or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with defect categorisation, interpretation and root‑cause investigation.
  • Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement tools.
  • Understanding of non‑conformance reporting and corrective action processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced operational setting with high accountability for product quality.
