Job description
Overview

You will be responsible for the creation & maintaining of the Manufacturing plan. You\'ll be creating forecasts identifying long-term trends for future capacity, to managing the schedules across the life cycle of projects. Working effectively with key company stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of projects.

This is an office-based role. You will work Monday-Thursday with week 1 Friday off and week 2 Friday working 4 hours. The working hours are flexible starting between 07:00-09:00 and finishing between 16:15-18:15 Monday-Thursday, same start time on the Friday worked but finishing between 11:00-13:00.

Responsibilities
  • Create & maintain production forecasts. Converting this into weekly & monthly manufacturing schedules. Initially using Microsoft programs but to be carried out on the ERP system from 2026 onwards
  • Determine production requirements based on labour and plant capacity, as well as project specifications
  • Liaise with Manufacturing Manager and Leading Hands, on job priorities and communicate workload accordingly
  • Maintain the Capacity Plan & Integrated Planner
  • Administrate & distribute project specific labour costings via reports
  • Co-ordinate timesheets for payroll
  • Create delivery notes for sub-contracting work
  • In conjunction with the Manufacturing Manager, manage and plan manufacturing staff holidays and appropriate cover and Manager communicate the weekly plan to the Team Leaders in daily & weekly meetings
  • Give insight into schedules when requested at bi-weekly project update meetings
  • Liaise with the Manufacturing Manager, ensuring the targets required for KPI\'s regarding the schedule, production hours & cost is fully understood and communicated to the Leading Hands and shopfloor teams and that targets are maintained.
  • When required, be able to effectively communicate with Sub-contractors. Progress chasing & understanding their schedules. Accessing any impact on the project specific schedules
  • Seek ways to improve processes and performance in line with company Continuous Improvement program
  • Work with relevant stakeholders in the Projects, Operations & Purchasing teams to capture project & supply chain changes. Re-planning manufacturing schedules to suit
Key Skills Required
  • Have a strong understanding of scheduling in a production capacity
  • Appreciation of the impact of manufacturing efficiency on the company\'s success and the ability to communicate
  • Ability to give clear instructions to all levels of the business. Have excellent time management & communication skills. Possess strong interpersonal skills to relate with all members of the team.
  • Microsoft Excel experience Intermediate to high level. ERP experience would be advantageous
  • Have a manufacturing background. Shopfloor knowledge would be advantageous
  • Production planning or scheduling qualification
  • Open to ambitious, keen individuals who want to learn & progress. Experience in other manufacturing administrative roles would be considered for a candidate with the right attitude
