Job Description Summary

We are seeking a qualified Manufacturing Process Engineer with expertise in transformer manufacturing (preferred on Tanking FA & Processing) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and quality of our manufacturing processes, spearheading process standardization and leading continuous improvement initiatives. This role demands strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of manufacturing procedures, and the ability to drive innovative solutions for process optimization.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate proficiency in transformer manufacturing (preference in Tanking FA & Processing) with a comprehensive understanding of drawings, manufacturing procedures, and work instructions.
  • Provide direction and supervision for Tanking FA & Processing, mentoring and training team members to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Implement quality assurance and control measures to maintain high standards and lead initiatives for quality improvement across manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and write clear, compliant, and efficient manufacturing procedures, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Standardize processes to ensure consistency and operational excellence across all assembly activities.
  • Identify weaknesses in current processes and develop innovative solutions to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Share and implement best practices within the transformer industry to foster continuous improvement, training and mentoring people to execute manufacturing tasks at a high quality and efficiency level.
  • Introduce new designs and processes to manufacturing, ensuring Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles are integrated.
  • Collaborate with quality teams to conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and resolve process issues, acting as the first line of support for production issues and escalating systemic or repeated issues as necessary.
  • Support and participate in manufacturing quality gate reviews to ensure quality and process adherence.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with lean teams, participating in lean/kaizen projects focused on defect reduction and process stability.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in assembling active parts within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience at a Co‑Boss level (internal candidates) in Winding & Winding Assembly.
  • Strong skills in quality assurance and control with experience in implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency in developing manufacturing procedures and standard operating procedures.
  • Experience in process standardization and optimization.
  • Ability to identify and resolve process issues effectively.
  • Competency in training and mentoring people to execute manufacturing tasks at a high quality and efficiency level.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and participation in continuous improvement initiatives.
