A leading manufacturer of electronics is seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Technician in Norwich. You will test and repair various equipment and ensure compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate should have experience with electronic circuitry and SMT soldering. Key responsibilities include training fellow technicians and implementing process improvements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Test and repair a variety of Fluke equipment for adherence to specifications.
  • Assess and sign calibration certificates as needed.

  • Suggest and implement process improvements.
  • Participate in the creation and review of procedures.

Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • To test and repair a wide variety of Fluke equipment to ensure adherence to defined specifications and quality standards.
  • As required by the Production Team Leader, assess/sign calibration certificates for defined products.
  • Responsible for adherence to defined processes in the assigned work area, including but not limited to; Standard Work Instructions, 5S Standards, Safe Systems of Work, or Engineering Drawings.
  • As appropriate, train fellow Operatives/Technicians on defined processes as requested by the relevant Production Team Leader.
  • Take part in the complex diagnosis and rework of Fluke products down to the Component level and record and/or escalate fault(s) to Team Leaders/Manufacturing Engineering/Metrology/Quality Engineer(s) as required.
  • Suggest and/or implement process/product improvements using the FBS (Fortive Business System) toolset in order to improve operating KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) such as Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost.
  • As required, partake in the creation, review, and implementation of new procedures/work instructions, including suggesting improvements to currently issued procedures for both current and new products.
  • As required and communicated by the Production Team Leader(s), take part in the diagnosis, root cause analysis & repair of customer DOA (Defective on Arrival) returns, and loading into the specified Fluke system(s) in order to participate in improving the customer experience.

Your Team:

You will be part of a team of 8 Manufacturing Equipment Technicians, working on the repair and maintenance of manufactured Electrical and/or RF Calibration products.

The team is made up of people from diverse backgrounds and previous career fields, all bringing their unique experiences to the processes of analysis, diagnosis, and repair.

Experience

  • Previous work with precise electronic circuitry and components
  • SMT Soldering
  • Use of complex test/measurement equipment (Oscilliscopes, ARB’s, DMM’s etc.)
