A leading aerospace company in Cheltenham is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader to lead a team focused on production operations. Responsibilities include developing manufacturing strategies, ensuring safety and quality standards, and coaching team members. The Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader role is a fundamental part of the "3Ps" Organisational strategy and sits within our Power Manufacturing Engineering team, being accountable for the People Strategy. The Power Manufacturing Engineering Team consists of both Military and Civil Power portfolios, with an emerging Business Jet portfolio.
This Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader role is primarily responsible for ensuring that the Power Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team are equipped to support the various needs of production operations within Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost (SQDC) targets. Working with the Manufacturing Engineering Operations Leader, Industrial Engineering Lead (Process), and the Manufacturing Quality Engineering Lead (Product).
The Team Leader will continually evaluate the skills of the Manufacturing Engineering team against the long-term Team Development Roadmap (of which they will be fundamental in generating), identifying gaps-to-requirement, and appropriately actioning these gaps through training, talent acquisition, or otherwise.
The Team Leader will also be responsible for maintaining day-to-day support with production operations, representing the function at the Business Unit Control Centre (BUCC).
