Manufacturing Engineer | Cambridge | £45,000 per annum

Are you a Manufacturing Engineer or Production Engineer who enjoys solving complex production problems and making processes run smarter, faster and leaner? This opportunity in Cambridge will see you working at the heart of high-quality aerospace manufacturing, turning engineering designs into robust, repeatable processes.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting production, driving continuous improvement and ensuring that safety, quality, cost and delivery targets are consistently met. As a Manufacturing Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities across production, identifying and eliminating waste, and enhancing the capability of existing processes
  • Investigating engineering issues on the production line, raising and managing non-conformance reports, and driving robust root cause and corrective actions
  • Reviewing new designs, developing and maintaining clear work instructions, and supporting the implementation of engineering changes and new products into manufacture
  • Supporting the design and introduction of jigs, fixtures and tooling, and contributing to the justification of capital equipment investments
  • Analysing downtime and performance data to identify trends, develop solutions and ensure manufacturing documentation and systems are accurate and up to date
  • Actively contributing to meetings such as material and change review boards, and promoting best practice in health, safety, quality and environmental compliance
As Manufacturing Engineer, your experience will include:
  • Proven experience within a manufacturing or production engineering environment, ideally within aerospace, automotive or another complex, regulated industry
  • A solid understanding of manufacturing processes, or a strong willingness to learn this
  • Exposure to structured quality and improvement tools such as FMEA, APQP, PPAP, 5 Why or 8D, and an appreciation of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical information and present data clearly to different stakeholders
