Management Accountant – Skelmersdale – £Neg + bonus / benefits

Seymour John is supporting an international dairy / FMCG client who are looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join the team in Skelmersdale. You will join a large international family-owned group with over 26,000 colleagues across Europe. Following recent acquisition and a commitment to invest £45m on-site, they are looking for a candidate who can immediately add value, not just in terms of skills, but in mindset and impact. This is a site-based position with some flexibility available.
Responsibilities
- Oversee month-end and year-end accounting tasks, ensuring accurate P&L and balance sheet reporting.
- Carry out balance sheet reconciliations on schedule, resolving any variances promptly.
- Support the creation of budgets and reforecasts, providing meaningful variance analysis.
- Maintain the fixed asset register and related controls.
- Produce timely and accurate bank reconciliations.
- Work closely with internal teams to help deliver financial targets.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
- Provide management with clear financial insight and advice.
- Identify and drive opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
What we're looking for
- Experience as a Management Accountant, ideally within FMCG or manufacturing.
- Qualified or nearing completion of CIMA/ACCA.
- Strong background in management reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
- Excellent analytical skills with great attention to detail.
- Proficient in Excel and comfortable with accounting systems (knowledge of Sage 200 is a plus).
- Able to interpret complex data and present findings in a clear, actionable way.
- Proactive, adaptable, and committed to continuous improvement.
