Job summary

A market-leading business in Alderley Edge is seeking a Management Accountant to oversee month-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and P&L variance analysis. The ideal candidate will be AAT Qualified or Part-Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with strong Excel skills and previous management accounts experience. This role offers a salary circa £40,000, hybrid and flexible working, plus 25 days holiday and bank holidays.

• Review and compare to budget for all P&L nominals, preparing variance explanations.
• Produce monthly trial balances and working papers for entities.

Ascent Recruitment is pleased to support a market-leading business in Alderley Edge, looking for a Management Accountant.

Key Duties :

Month-end close and reconciliations across multiple entities

Balance sheet reconciliations and P&L variance analysis

Revenue recognition, prepayments, accruals, and intercompany reconciliations

Supporting audits, statutory accounts, and system improvements

Producing monthly TBs, working papers, and analysis for stakeholders

Cost recharges across entities

Review and comparison to budget for all P&L nominals, preparing variance explanations as required

Analytical review and monthly trend analysis

Producing month end TBs and working papers for all entities for review and submission to commercial team and / or external stakeholders

What were looking for :

AAT Qualified, Part-Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA, or QBE

Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)

Previous management accounts experience

Organised, analytical, and able to work to tight deadlines

A good communicator
