📍Location: Oxygen House, Exeter Business Park, EX1 3LH (on site)

✨Term: Full time or part-time, permanent

⏰Hours: Flex start and finish times - 40 hours per week

💷Salary: Up to £30,000 depending on experience - with additional remuneration for on-call duties and call outs

Are you a hands‑on problem solver with a knack for fixing things and keeping spaces running smoothly? We’re looking for a Maintenance Technician / Handy Person to join our friendly Built Environment and Property team at Oxygen House in Exeter. Whether you're seeking full‑time or part‑time work, this permanent role offers variety and the chance to make a real impact across a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential buildings.

From plumbing and mechanical maintenance to general repairs and improvement projects, you’ll be the go‑to person for keeping our spaces safe, functional, and well‑presented. You’ll respond to both planned and reactive maintenance needs, and participate in a shared on‑call rota with additional pay for availability and callouts.

We’ll support you with full training, including specialist systems and access to accredited qualifications, so you can continue to grow your skills while doing what you do best.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Tackling general maintenance tasks like carpentry, painting, and minor repairs.

  • Handling plumbing jobs and supporting mechanical upkeep.

  • Conducting preventative inspections to ensure safety and compliance.

  • Responding quickly to urgent maintenance issues.

  • Assisting with furniture and equipment moves.

  • Contributing to small‑scale upgrades and installations.

  • Managing tools and supplies to keep everything running smoothly.


We’re looking for someone who’s practical, proactive and takes pride in their work. You’ll need:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in property maintenance across varied environments (office, residential, mixed‑use).

  • Solid skills in general maintenance and basic plumbing.

  • A strong understanding of health & safety and safe working practices.

  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • The ability to adapt to changing priorities.

  • Physical capability to handle manual tasks and work in different conditions, including confined spaces and outdoors.
