MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (MECHANICAL BIAS) - CNC MACHINE SHOP

SANDIACRE, NOTTINGHAM

UP TO £47,526 (INCLUDING SHIFT ALLOWANCE)

2 Shift Pattern:

Days: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 - 13:40 & Friday 06:00 - 13:00

Afters: Monday to Thursday, 13:35 - 21:15 & Friday 12:55 - 19:55

Progress Rail is looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair all plant, equipment and facilities.

THE ROLE:
  • Maintain documentation such as job sheets, service reports, permits to work, risk assessments and any other documentation deemed relevant to Maintenance activities.
  • Perform normal maintenance duties when and where necessary and any other duties as apparent or assigned.
  • Identify, plan, present and implement continuous improvement ideas and projects.
  • Monitor contractors, to ensure they are working safely, at all times, and are using the appropriate or required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with the sequencing of work assignments within the department to ensure a smooth flow and optimum efficiency of a safety & cost driven strategy within the maintenance department.
  • Report and maintain machinery breakdown / PPM status ref: PIRANA and a handover book, to ensure prompt attention and reduce waste.
  • Provide realistic time / cost estimates for completions of specific maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure all documentation is checked, and signed off.
  • Assist in the identification, sourcing, and purchasing of parts and equipment.
THE CANDIDATE:
  • A minimum of NVQ Level 3 City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering or similar qualification or time-served in mechanical discipline
  • Previous practical experience within a medium to heavy manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical maintenance aspects
  • Ability to effectively analyse, record and interpret data
