Job summary

A global environmental services company is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Bias) in Liverpool to provide reactive and planned maintenance for all plant operations. The candidate will ensure compliance with safety standards and assist in improvements. Qualifications include mechanical or electrical engineering certifications and experience in regulated business environments. Shifts are Monday to Friday with every other Saturday. Competitive pay is offered.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a relevant engineering qualification.
  • Qualified to City and Guilds or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • Experience in a process or heavy engineering environment.

Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Bias) - Liverpool

The maintenance technician's role is to provide reactive and planned maintenance cover on all plant. They should also provide cross functional support to other team members, as and when required.

Shifts: 06 : 00am - 14 : 00pm & 14 : 00pm - 22 : 00pm. Monday to Friday & every other Saturday 06 : 00am - 14 : 00pm

Pay: £16.11 p / h (1.33x Shift Allowance)

Start Date: Immediate

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities carried out are fully compliant with regulatory standards for safety, health and the environment, in order to ensure the company values are upheld
  • To assist in implementing improvement initiatives should targets / plans not be met.
  • To utilise organisational techniques such as 5S to provide a safe and efficient workplace.
  • To undertake root cause analysis of all issues to eliminate
  • To ensure that elimination of waste is at the core of all activities by the application of the relevant LEAN manufacturing techniques such as error proofing and reduction in changeover times.
  • To work with the technical team, H&S and maintenance counterparts to ensure best practice and the provision of a consistent customer service across the region.
Ideal candidate experience
  • Completion of a relevant engineering
  • Qualified to City and Guilds level or NVQ level 3 in mechanical or electrical discipline
  • Engineering experience in a process or heavy engineering
  • A suitable health and safety qualification (IOSH etc)
  • Experience working in a regulated business
  • Experience working under a permit to work
  • Regulatory monitoring requirements training (MCERTS)
  • Significant experience of fault finding on complex
  • Experience in using computer maintenance management systems (CMMS)17
