Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Location: Stourbridge
Salary: 32,000 per annum
Working Hours: 42.5 hours per week (7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 7:00 AM - 1:30 PM on Fridays)
Job Overview
We are currently seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance on our production equipment and facilities. This role requires a mechanical bias, with solid knowledge of electrical systems to ensure the smooth operation of machinery.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery, equipment, and systems within the factory.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant machinery and production equipment.
- Carry out repairs and adjustments as needed, including both mechanical and electrical work.
- Conduct inspections of machinery to identify potential issues and recommend improvements.
- Work closely with the production team to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.
- Support with the installation of new machinery and systems when required.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
- Occasionally assist in operating and troubleshooting pressing, lathe, and milling machines, as needed.
Essential Requirements
- Must hold a valid driving license and have the ability to travel to the site.
- An apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or equivalent with relevant experience in the field.
- Strong mechanical skills with a solid understanding of electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills and Qualifications
- Previous experience with presses, lathes, and milling machines is highly desirable.
- Forklift Truck (FLT) license and crane license would be beneficial, though not essential.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role.
