Overview

Our client are a global engineering firm who are looking to recruit a maintenance planner to join the team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the day-to-day planning, coordination, and supervision of engineering projects.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor project progress; track performance and communicate with all stakeholders.
  • Review and assess contractor RAMS, ensuring suitability and compliance.
  • Identify and resolve project challenges, escalating issues where appropriate and developing practical solutions with third parties.
  • Arrange and manage Permit to Work (PTW), Hot Work, Confined Space, and Lock-Out/Tag-Out processes.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards, ensuring legal and procedural adherence.
  • Maintain detailed records, project data, and documentation.
  • Collaborate across departments to prioritise and deliver projects that impact operational performance.
  • Lead by example in setting standards for safety, integrity, and team behaviour.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent); time-served apprenticeship also considered.
  • 3-5 years' experience in project management or maintenance supervision, ideally in a 24/7 industrial environment.
  • Strong core discipline (Mechanical or Electrical) with broad understanding of other engineering areas.
  • Sound knowledge of health & safety regulations, including PTW, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, RAMS, and site permit systems.
  • Proficient in project management tools and CMMS.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable approach to engineering challenges.
