Job summary

A leading recycling company in Thatcham is looking for an experienced Maintenance Plant Fitter/Mechanic. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining industrial machinery, conducting routine maintenance on Lorries, and troubleshooting faults. The ideal candidate has 2 years of experience in a similar role, a full UK Driving Licence, and fluent English. Salary up to £50,000 PA based on experience. Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Plant Fitter/Maintenance role.
• Full Clean UK Driving Licence required.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems is an advantage.

Job description

One of clients who is a leading processor and recycler of WEEE waste in the UK with a location in the Thatcham area is looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Plant Fitter/Mechanic. Our client promotes as well as delivers a sustainable solution to the recycling of WEEE through the expertise of their staff alongside investments in modern technology. They have been established for over 35 years, as well as have major contracts with businesses, utility companies and local authorities.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday: 45 hours - Plus 4 hours Saturday mornings totalling 49 hours per week. Plus, overtime.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Main Duties

• Inspect and troubleshoot industrial shredders, granulators, conveyor belts and other plant machinery
• Fixing faults on plant machinery or arranging for replacements to be installed
• Conducting inspections on plant machinery
• Carrying out routine scheduled maintenance work for Lorries
• Preventative maintenance
• Welding activities when necessary
• Dealing with breakdowns, unplanned problems, and repairs
• Checking functionality of safety systems
• Fitting new parts and making sure equipment is working correctly

Attributes and Experience

• Previous mechanical and electrical experience
• Experience in repairing mobile plant such as forklifts, Lorries.
• Background in Lorries (HGV) maintenance or any vehicle maintenance; - not mandatory, however represents an advantage
• Experience in repairing any machinery such as conveyor belts, industrial shredders, granulators.
• Experience in repairing/maintaining any industrial machinery
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems - represents an advantage, but not essential
• Welding skills
