Job summary

A family-owned care home group is seeking a Maintenance Operative based in the London Region. You will maintain high standards of premises and grounds, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for residents. Ideal candidates will have previous maintenance experience, their own basic tools, and a full UK driving license. The role includes routine checks and working with the Home Manager. Competitive salary of £33,490 - £34,500 based on experience with additional benefits including holiday and DBS costs covered.

We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Operative for the London Region with the main location being our Limetree Care Home, Tulse Hill, London. As a Maintenance Operative you should be a general all‑rounder with excellent attention to detail, a positive can‑do attitude who enjoys working in a client‑facing role and can offer a great customer experience.

Excelcare is a family‑owned care home group established for over 34 years. We provide the highest standards of care to older people with a range of needs including dementia, physical disabilities, and mental health issues. By joining us you will become one of the ‘family’ and in return for your dedication and hard work you can expect:

Hours: Monday to Friday - 8am to 5pm
Salary: £33,490 - £34 ип,500 per annum depending on experience and qualifications
The opportunity to increase earnings for emergency call outs required out of hours, as this is a 24 hour service.
About the role of Maintenance Operative
  • As the Maintenance Operative your role is ensure the premises and grounds are maintained to a high standard and provide the people living in our care homes a safe, comfortable, and pleasant environment.
  • Maintain all records in accordance with company policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Carry out routine monthly, weekly, daily checks and inspections as required and report on this and any issues. E.g. Leak testing.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
  • Adhere to Company policies and procedures paying particular attention to health and safety and fire policies.
  • Be aware of legislation with regards to property and facilities to ensure works are compliant at completion.
  • Support with the induction of new team members as required to ensure they have the necessary skill and knowledge to perform their role.
  • Always maintain confidentiality.
  • Ordering and checking of-Uni stock.
  • Work with the Home Manager, Teams and the people living in our homes.
  • To carry out any additional duties as requested.
  • As we operate seven days a week, there is an oncall rota to supportwpdb homes in emergency situations during the evenings and weekends however call outs are paid. This is shared between the maintenance team.
  • To undertake any additional training and development that would be beneficial for your own self development.
What we are looking for from you:
  • Previous Commercial experience in a handy person/maintenance/painting and decorating/gardening role.
  • Your own basic tools, however, all materials will be provided.
  • каждым A full driving licence for use in the UK is essential as well as your own vehicle as there will be a need to travel to other homes in the region for projects or an emergency if required. Mileage will be paid via expenses.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Completion of an enhanced DBS (Criminal Records Check) as you would be working in the home of vulnerable adults.
