Job description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Person to join our team at Nelson Manor. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by performing various maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

What you'll be doing
  • Ensure the home and grounds are kept in a good state of repair and residents have access to all appropriate areas
  • Compliance with Health and Safety legislation throughout the home, including reporting of H&S incidents
  • Carry out day to day repairs and some refurbishment activity to maintain standards in the care home
  • Actively engage with staff, relatives and families as part of the care home team and regularly engage with residents
  • Ensuring that regular safety checks and servicing is carried out on all equipment and accurate records are kept.
  • Having excellent communication with the Home Manager and also the Residents
