Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical bias - Food Manufacturing,Harlow, £38,000 - £45,000 (DOE)

Are you an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician ready to bring your skills to a busy food manufacturing environment?

You'll be part of a skilled maintenance team responsible for keeping production lines and supporting systems in top condition. From installations and upgrades to troubleshooting and routine maintenance, you'll play a hands‑on role in ensuring our equipment operates safely and efficiently.

No two days are the same – one day you might be fabricating or welding components, the next resolving a breakdown, or working on a continuous improvement project. Your attention to detail and safety‑first approach will be key to our success.

Maintenance Engineer requirements
  • A solid background in mechanical maintenance, ideally within food, beverage, or FMCG manufacturing
  • Level 3 qualification or above in Mechanical Engineering (Apprenticeship, BTEC, or Diploma)
  • Confident working with mechanical systems, workshop tools, and utilities.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and an understanding of preventative maintenance systems (CMMS)
  • A team player with good communication skills who can also work independently
  • Awareness of hygiene and safety standards in a food production environment
