Maintenance Engineer Days (Electrical bias)

Salary: £45,000 + 26 days holiday + pension + excellent career progression

Location: Deeside

Hours: Monday to Friday, daytime

Overview: A unique opportunity to join a market-leading business, helping to set up and shape a new plant/department with opportunities for advancement.

The Job:

  1. Assist in overseeing the installation, commissioning, and startup of advanced machinery, working closely with OEM engineers.
  2. Ensure health & safety and compliance within the mechanical engineering team.
  3. Support and influence the mechanical engineering strategy, ensuring its implementation across the site.
  4. Implement reliability strategies to minimize downtime using data-driven approaches.

The Person:

  1. Apprenticeship, NVQ, HNC in mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  2. Experience in heavy manufacturing environments such as paper mills, steelworks, recycling, or chemicals is advantageous.
  3. Understanding of DCS systems is a plus.
  4. Flexibility and ability to work within a dynamic, evolving team.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills, including communication and stakeholder engagement.

Desirable but not essential:

  1. Experience with project expansion, modernization, or new plant construction.
  2. Experience with installation, commissioning, and startup of machinery.
  3. BOAS or steam boiler expertise.
