Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Midsomer Norton

£37,000 - £42,000 DOE + Unlimited, Flexible Overtime (Time & Half)

37.5 hours per week | Mon-Fri | Early Friday Finish | Permanent

Are you an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer looking to join a long-standing, supportive, family-feel engineering team?

Our client, a highly respected manufacturing business in Midsomer Norton, is expanding their on‑site engineering team and seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join them.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you want stability, low staff turnover, and a role where no two days are the same.

What's on Offer
  • £35,000 - £42,000 depending on experience
  • Overtime available at time & half (regular overtime available)
  • 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Double‑day shift pattern with weekly rotation
  • Early finishes every Friday
  • 34 days holiday (including Bank Holidays + Christmas shutdown)
  • Long‑term stability with an established employer
  • Friendly, collaborative engineering team of five
Shift Pattern

Mornings:

  • Mon‑Wed: 6am‑2pm
  • Thu: 6am‑1pm
  • Fri: 6am‑12:30pm

Afternoons:

  • Mon‑Wed: 2pm‑10pm
  • Thu: 1pm‑8pm
  • Fri: 12:30pm‑7pm
The Role

You’ll join a multi‑skilled team supporting a wide range of machines across the plant – from legacy equipment to newer automated systems.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Electrical & mechanical reactive breakdowns
  • Planned maintenance, machine modifications & improvement projects
  • Installing, relocating, and building machinery and components
  • Working from electrical drawings and diagnosing faults down to PCB/component level
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the production environment
  • Ensuring safe, high‑quality engineering work at all times
What We're Looking For

A strong electrically biased engineer with experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing or industrial environment.

Key skills include:

  • Solid knowledge of single & three‑phase systems, motors, controllers, PLC awareness
  • Able to read and work from circuit diagrams
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding skills
  • Understanding of pneumatics, bearings, belts, or general mechanical systems (advantageous)
  • Excellent communication & teamwork
  • Positive, proactive approach with strong time‑keeping
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a five‑person engineering team
