Maintenance Engineer

We’re hiring a Maintenance Engineer to join AMH Material Handling’s growing team in Lymedale, near Stoke-on-Trent. Offering a competitive salary up to £47,000 including shift allowance, optional overtime, and the chance to work on one of the UK’s most advanced automated facilities.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our customer’s automated systems operating at peak performance. You’ll be part of a small, skilled team, providing both planned and reactive maintenance across conveyors, AMRs, and automated handling systems within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Location: Lymedale, near Stoke-on-Trent

Salary: Up to £47,000 (inclusive of shift allowance)

Hours: 12-hour shifts, days and nights including weekends

What you’ll be doing
  • Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding quickly to breakdowns
  • Supporting site uptime and performance against KPIs
  • Working safely to H&S standards, ensuring compliance with AMH and client policies
  • Using the CMMS system to record, plan and complete maintenance tasks
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability
  • Maintaining clear communication with the engineering and operations teams
  • Ensuring all documentation and reports are accurate and up to date

This is a hands‑on, technically varied role where you’ll work with the latest automation technologies and gain exposure to some of the most advanced logistics engineering systems in the UK.

Essential
  • Relevant qualification in engineering e.g. NVQ level 3, apprenticeship etc.

  • Practical understanding of conveyors, motors, pneumatics, and PLC‑controlled systems
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and team‑working ability
  • Flexible to work shifts (including days / nights)
  • Committed to working safely and maintaining high standards
