Job description

Are you an experienced Maintenance Electrician looking for a role with variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work on a wide range of electrical systems? We are seeking a motivated Maintenance Electrician (APE) to join our team and play a key part in maintaining and improving our site infrastructure. As a Maintenance Electrician, you will be responsible for electrical installations, planned and reactive maintenance, testing, and contributing to the design and build of electrical control systems. This is a hands‑on role within a dynamic environment where safety, quality and continuous improvement are at the heart of what we do.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Carry out electrical maintenance, installations, testing, and repairs in accordance with current IEE regulations.
  • Support preventive and reactive maintenance activities, including HVAC, emergency lighting and fire alarm testing.
  • Assist in the design and installation of new electrical systems to continually enhance site infrastructure.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical breakdowns to minimise downtime.
  • Produce plans, timescales and costings for upgrades and remedial works.
  • Source replacement parts for obsolete or end-of-life equipment.
  • Use CAFM and helpdesk systems to manage and complete job tasks on time.
  • Issue electrical isolation permits and manage permits to work when required.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and engineering best practice.
Essential
  • BS7671:2018 - 18th Edition qualification
  • City & Guilds 2391 (Inspection & Testing)
  • Experience in plant operations with planned and reactive maintenance
  • Strong communication skills and good IT literacy (Microsoft Excel & Word)
  • Ability to read electrical drawings and understand RAMS

Desirable
  • City & Guilds 6711
  • MEWP licence (training available)
  • Unlicensed Asbestos Worker certification (training provided)
  • PLC programming/diagnostics experience (Siemens / Allen Bradley)
  • Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and automation
