Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee fleet operations and logistics performance in West Bromwich. The role involves leading scheduling, ensuring compliance with regulations, and coordinating internal teams for effective delivery. You will manage vehicle routing, budget development, and maintain operational readiness. Ideal candidates should have strong logistics management capabilities and experience in fleet operations. This full-time position offers a competitive salary starting from £50,000 per annum.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, organisation and scheduling of bulk logistics operations.
  • Oversee drivers and logistics personnel, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient operations.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely product availability and delivery.
  • Manage vehicle allocation, routing, scheduling and operational planning.
  • Monitor and track deliveries, vehicle utilisation, KPIs and logistics performance metrics.
  • Support continuous improvement through process development, optimisation and cost-reduction.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant transport, safety and operational regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records including fleet maintenance, inspections, documentation and training.
  • Oversee incident investigations and corrective actions in collaboration with Health & Safety.
  • Coordinate fleet maintenance in line with legal requirements, ensuring operational readiness.
  • Develop and manage logistics budgets and operational expenditure.
  • Handle escalations, customer issues and service-related challenges.
  • Support cross-departmental communication to drive operational excellence.

Skills

Strong planning, coordination and logistics management capability
CPC Qualification is advantageous
Dangerous Goods Knowledge
Experience managing fleet operations, scheduling and driver performance
Knowledge of transport compliance, safety standards and regulatory requirements
Strong communication skills across all levels of the business
