A leading logistics provider in the UK is seeking a dedicated Logistics Assistant to support the operational function of the ambulance service. The role involves ensuring timely access to vehicles and supplies necessary for high-quality patient care. Candidates should hold a Full UK Driving Licence with C1 entitlement and have a basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance. This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £24,465 per annum.

Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving Licence with C1 entitlement (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience in logistics, fleet support, or stock control roles is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure they are clean, fuelled, and roadworthy.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks like topping up fluids and tyre checks.
  • Coordinate vehicle movements for maintenance and operational requirements.
  • Maintain and restock clinical consumables on vehicles and in station stores.
  • Track assets and maintain accurate records using Safecheck and Oracle.
  • Ensure operational areas are clean, safe, and organised.

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Logistics Assistant to join our team and play a vital role in supporting the operational function of the ambulance service. This position ensures that frontline teams have timely access to vehicles, equipment, and supplies needed to deliver high-quality patient care. Working under the direction of the sector leadership team, you will help coordinate vehicle availability, equipment readiness, and stock management. You'll work closely with operational managers, workshops, and clinical teams to maintain high standards of preparedness and service resilience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure they are clean, fuelled, roadworthy, and equipped.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks (e.g., topping up fluids, tyre checks, AdBlue).
  • Coordinate vehicle movements for maintenance, deep cleaning, and operational requirements.
  • Maintain and restock clinical consumables on vehicles and in station stores.
  • Support medical equipment servicing, calibration, and repairs.
  • Track assets and maintain accurate records using systems such as Safecheck and Oracle.
  • Ensure operational areas are clean, safe, and organised.
  • Respond flexibly to changing operational demands in a fast-paced environment.
What We're Looking For
  • Full UK Driving Licence with C1 entitlement (or willingness to obtain) - No requirement for TACHO, CPC & digital Tacho card
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Previous experience in logistics, fleet support, or stock control roles.
  • Good IT skills and record-keeping ability.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • A proactive, adaptable approach and commitment to high standards.
