Job description
Overview

The job plan will include care for Uro-oncology patients, focused on patients with prostate cancer. Cross-site working across NCEL (North Central and East London) sites will be required to support delivery of services across the network. This may require undertaking clinics and/or theatre lists at other NCEL sites, such as at Barking, Havering & Redbridge NHS Trust or Barts Health NHS Trust. The post holder will have a specialist interest and clinical expertise in the management of prostate cancer and experience in performing robotic prostatectomy. CV required for the application.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure services are responsive to the needs of patients and other service users and their families.
  • Facilitate working arrangements between subspecialty teams within the service where appropriate.
  • Meet regularly with key members of the multidisciplinary team and support effective multidisciplinary team working.
  • Work closely with the Divisional Clinical Director (DCD) and management team to respond to and meet external standards relevant to the Service.
  • Support the college tutor and educational supervisor in junior medical staff issues, training, and performance.
  • Support the DCD, implement and monitor compliance plans to ensure that all junior medical staff within the Service are compliant with legal requirements.
  • Attend meetings with the Divisional Clinical Director and management team as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Lead and management team to support the local implementation of Trust objectives within the Division.
  • Support service planning to ensure it meets contractual and other performance requirements (e.g., waiting list targets, winter pressures, Cancer waiting times).
